Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as one “Transaction”

A transaction generally refers to each accounting entry that needs to be processed. As a guide, this may include:

  • Each line item appearing on your company’s bank statement (e.g. receipts, payments, bank charges, interest).
  • Sales invoices and purchase invoices that need to be recorded.
  • Supporting receipts and expense claims.
  • Accruals, prepayments, and other year-end accounting adjustments (where applicable).
  • Depreciation or amortisation entries for fixed assets or intangible assets (where applicable).

The transaction volume provided during quotation is an estimate based on the information available at the time. As the actual number of transactions can only be accurately determined after reviewing your accounting records, the final transaction count may differ from the initial estimate. If the actual volume significantly exceeds the quoted range, we will discuss the appropriate fee adjustment with you before proceeding with any additional work.

Are there any setup or onboarding fees?

No. We do not charge any additional setup or onboarding fees. You will only be charged for the services you have engaged us to provide, as set out in your quotation or engagement letter.

Do I need both monthly bookkeeping and annual accounting?

Not necessarily. Depending on your business needs, you may choose to have your bookkeeping done monthly, quarterly, or annually.

At the end of each financial year, we can also prepare your Unaudited Financial Statements (UFS), which are required for your Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Return filing, where applicable.

Many businesses opt for regular bookkeeping to keep their financial records up to date throughout the year. However, if your transaction volume is low, annual bookkeeping may be a suitable option.

Is GST registration compulsory for my business?

GST registration is only compulsory if your business is required to register under Singapore’s GST rules. For example, registration is generally mandatory if your taxable turnover exceeds, or is expected to exceed, the prevailing registration threshold.

If your business does not meet the mandatory registration criteria, you may still choose to register voluntarily, subject to meeting the relevant conditions.

If you are unsure whether GST registration is required for your business, our team will be happy to assess your situation and advise you on the most suitable approach.
